Welcome back to the Creative Life Adventure.

I’m not generally known for my sense of humor, so I’m especially pleased to present my latest published work, a satirical novella called Bumper City. Bumper City is about the residents of a fictional, whimsical, somewhat fantastical, place called Bumper City, where everyone plays pinball, birds are always welcome, and the city center is a public park of monumental size. From the back cover:

“Join the residents of Bumper City in their many friendships and feuds, as they compete in pinball tournaments for all the marbles, endure water balloon assaults, and try to interpret their founder’s parting message. It’s all about surviving this game we call pinball, er, life.”

The novella features a diverse group of characters, including ice cream parlor employee Summertime Bijou, pinball syndicate leader Johnny Freeze, reckless business leader Sh’Git F’Tucker, and easy-going city mayor Atsamatta Groove.

Bumper City is a different style of story-telling for me and I’m very pleased with the end result. Bumper City is available in print and digital editions from all the usual sources and some unusual sources as well. For print editions, I’m partial to bookshop.org, where all of my novels are available. This universal book link provides links to a few sites where the ebook is available. Enjoy!

  1. I love this novella, having read it from early drafts to its final iteration. It’s delightful, humorous, heart-warming, and kind.
