Welcome back to the Creative Life Adventure.
My second novel, Paradise West, is now available in paperback and digital formats. Running 309 pages long in the trade paperback edition, Paradise West is a post-apocalyptic thriller set in the near future. A brief teaser for the story and characters can be found at the Paradise West page here, or under the Books link at the top of the page. This book is the most complex work I’ve completed, with an ensemble cast of diverse characters. The dark cover reflects the somber mission the characters face and the darkness of the undersea world they’re forced to occupy.

I first conceived of Paradise West many years ago and it is influenced by some of my favorite books, movies, and television, including Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, The X-Files, Star Trek, and Battlestar Galactica. It’s even influenced by less obvious sources like The West Wing and Cold in July (2014). In between the considerable action, the novel explores themes of grief and loss, the trade-offs between human competition versus cooperation, and the consequences of end-stage capitalism.
Paradise West is currently available from a wide variety of online retailers – clicking here will give you most of the options. I’m very proud of this novel and I hope you will give it a read. Enjoy!
